On Eagles Wings

The Torah teaches us that Hashem took us out of Egypt like an
an Eagle who carry’s their young –on Eagles wings. The famous
illuminator of Torah – Rashi explains –

All other birds carry their young in their claws to hold them close.
An Eagle who soars above all –puts their young on their back and isn’t
worried about anyone coming from above and snatching them

What is Hashem teaching us through his Torah that he took us out on eagles wings?
The Eagles young have to do something that no others have to do – jump on their
Mother’s back. You want your mother to protect you and love you? You got to
do something – jump- we have to choose.

Although he loves us and takes care of us –his goal for us is for us to choose
the relationship with him. That is the only thing that Hashem can’t do for us.

When the Jewish people got to the Red Sea- (coming out of Egypt)-it only split
for them when Nachshon ben Aminadav went into the sea, the water was up to
his neck and almost drowned – Hashem said they need to choose the right choice
but not because they expect reward or protection or anything – We chose because
it’s right or the right thing to do.

The young of the Eagles have to do something scary first – jump on their mother’s back
Then it has complete protection. This Holiday let’s jump on the back of our father in heaven
And let him lead the way

Never under-estimate our role – in choosing our life –Never under-estimate the role of
Hashem when you do
