Take
coconuts and tie them to the tree - drill a hole in coconut big enough
for
the Monkey to put his hand in. Put all the yummy things a monkey likes
to
eat inside the coconut and wait. Eventually a Monkey will make his way
to
the coconut, stick his hand inside and grab what he desires. His problem,
is
that once he makes a fist and grabs what’s inside-he refuses to let go
of
the stuff- grabs-he can’t get his hand out (nor the stuff)
And
he won’t let it go either –he is stuck-you have just caught yourself a monkey.
What
did you grab with your fist this year and hold on to? Anger, resentment,
Frustration,
revenge, guilt, hate, pessimism, depression, anxiety – it really never becomes
Completely
part of you in an intrinsic way. The first step is to let go.
Holding
on to is being stubborn- non-sense, -just not in your best interests
It
clouds our judgment - makes us lose focus- they become self sabotages
Let
go
See
your spouse in their innocent again – your mother, father, sibling, co-worker,
boss
In
their innocent – Just let it go – It’s too heavy-slows you down
The
cookie is our stuff – let them go
Let
all the stupid stuff in our lives go
